Remember the Little Caesar’s Pizza Guy? Read the post title like that.
Friday I was featured on Freshly Pressed. It was the turning point in my day.
- Earthquake.
- My cat was so scared, she felt the need to sleep on my face.
- A bee landed on my nose in the parking lot. This was more traumatic than the earthquake. I’ve never been stung before, so naturally I’m terrified and imagine being stung by a bee as the most painful experience on earth.
- I realized I forgot my breakfast Pop-Tart. Not quite as traumatic as the bee but close.
- My blog post is featured on Freshly Pressed!
- I spent my lunch hour getting a pedicure.
- After work I saw Eclipse. Which means I also saw Jacob with his shirt off. How many abs does that boy have? Ah, Taylor Lautner, if only I were 10 years younger, Johnny Depp would have some competition for his status of future husband.
Thank you, WordPress, for picking my post! I didn’t even have to stomp my feet, roll around on the floor screaming, or drop and quiver my lower lip.
Thank you, Readers. Readers who have been reading from the beginning and the new readers. I’m trying to visit new blogs and my usuals, but I’m running a little behind. (I had a fun-filled weekend of seeing Mary Poppins in DC, and the Old 97s and Eytan and the Embassy in Pittsburgh, so I’ll definitely be posting about those.)
Thank you, Earthquake, for the material. Feel free to quake again. Maybe even step it up to a 3.7 instead of a 3.6. I’ll even go as high as 3.8.

Congrats! That’s great. Obviously, it was a turning point of all great things to come. Make sure you tell Keifer that he is now supposed to do something extraordinary to change your life:)

Only good things have happened since. I think Freshly Pressed is lucky.

I was wondering how long it would take for your blog to get “Freshly Pressed”! Your blog is so great, extremely funny, real, and everything you write about…I can relate to in my own life. I look for your updates every day as I can’t even imagine what you will write about next, that is what makes it so FANTASTIC! Keep up the good work & Congratulations! (P.S. – What is Kiefer waiting for?)
July 20th, 2010 at 4:22 pm
Thank you! Kiefer is waiting for pigs to fly. Hey…isn’t it your birthday this week? Happy Birthday!
July 21st, 2010 at 7:13 am
Yes, my Birthday is on Thursday! Turning the big 45! Thanks for remembering! 🙂

Your blog was actually freshly pressed twice. I believe that’s how I found you. Or maybe it was through unabridgedgirl, idk.

I picked peaches at Homestead Farms in Poolsville, MD, last summer and got stung twice in the eye by a hornet. I looked like a cross between Sloth and the Elephant Man. You should definitely fear bees.
July 20th, 2010 at 4:22 pm
The eyes…Ouch!
July 20th, 2010 at 9:46 am
Bee stings aren’t the worst thing in the world…unless you’re like my little Bug Girl who breaks out and gets all swollen and “allergic”…some people, jeez.
We must be having earthquakes all the time here, because sleeping on my head is something my cat prefers to do.
Congrats on the Freshly Pressed post!

Sorry she’s allergic. =( I guess I’ll never know if I’m allergic until I get stung. I’m not anxious to find out.

Aa, yay for the spotlight! Mm. I should feel bad about Jacob’s teeny abs, but I don’t. So there.
(P.S. Oscar is fine, sitting at my feet – I am fretting over transporting bim back home at the end of the year.. UK to Sydney!) x
July 20th, 2010 at 4:25 pm
I thought Oscar escaped! I’m glad he’s ok.
July 20th, 2010 at 10:24 am
Yay! Fame at last! You deserve it. 😀
July 20th, 2010 at 4:25 pm
Thank you!
July 20th, 2010 at 12:11 pm
Congratz!! It’s about time!
And I agree, Jacobs’ [Taylor] abs are the BEST!!
July 20th, 2010 at 4:26 pm
I blush whenever I see them.
July 20th, 2010 at 1:50 pm
OMG I was stung by a bee on my cheek and I CRIED LIKE A BABY! I hurt SOOO BAD!
July 20th, 2010 at 4:27 pm
Why do bees go for the face? Ouch!
July 20th, 2010 at 6:43 pm
Thoughtsappear, your posts are soooo funny, definitely is one of the many reasons you got featured…I’m sure it has nothing to do with your pouting 🙂
DC again? can’t wait…
July 21st, 2010 at 5:58 am
Thank you!
Well, DC is only 45 minutes away. I really should venture there more often than I do.
July 20th, 2010 at 8:18 pm
You are so hilarious! I’m so glad that you commented on my blog, so I could find you. Keep it up!
July 20th, 2010 at 8:44 pm
hey you…. congrats!!
and you’re gonna have to put up a good fight for johnny depp. although i’d choose edward over jacob, but i think i’m still young enough that i wouldn’t quite be craddle-robbin if i had a steamy affair with either.
July 21st, 2010 at 6:01 am
Thank you!
But…but…a Facebook quiz told me Johnny Depp would be my future husband. Even better than a psychic!
You do have the youth advantage!

i have a kind of deep underlying dislike for the entire twilight franchise. But i went to see every movie. Why? Because of (it must be said) The Many Ab-ed (?) Wonder. And a small matter of coercion by my friend Shelbie, who fancies him more than any other living being on the planet.
Ah well.
To quote Edward (grrr), doesn’t he own a shirt?!
Love (and slight jealousy– why not me, freshly pressed?! *wails*)

The Many Ab-ed Wonder…Love it!
Try blogging about Godzilla…I think that’s what got me on Freshly Pressed. Everybody loves Godzilla.
July 21st, 2010 at 10:01 am
I think I’ll be blogging about Godzilla soon. Maybe I’ll talk about my fancy iPhone and how it predicts that I want to use the word godzilla. Correction, it only corrects it when I input it wrong. Nevertheless I will be blogging about Godzilla soon

I did theater for many years as well. I did a lot of technical theater, too, because it was required. I still find that I am critical when I go to a show. I try not to be, to just enjoy it – – but, you being in theater, can understand the difficulty. I would’ve been annoyed by a gobo as well.
