I really like No. 2. That’s really generous of you.
I might be able to help you with No. 7 (try fried green tomatoes). Here’s the link to a recipe I posted last summer: http://wp.me/pKRJf-lj
P.S. There’s really such a thing as a Pop-Tart store?!
June 15th, 2011 at 9:06 am
Thanks for the recipe! I’ll definitely try it. I like that the recipe is pretty simple.
June 14th, 2011 at 7:53 am
Weirdly, I have been thinking about donating my hair to Locks of Love. They could probably make 10 wigs.
Have you considered…. “GO Skydiving”. I went for my 33rd, and I am STILL ecstatic that I survived the experience.
June 15th, 2011 at 9:08 am
You do have long hair!
33 jumps! Geez! Unfortunately, I have absolutely no interest in jumping out of a plane.
June 14th, 2011 at 8:18 am
There is an elephant sancturary in Tennessee that me and my husband want to visit since seeing the wolves was so awesome.
Have you ever been to Georgia? Savannah has a bunch of supposedly haunted places for you to stay (and a totally fun haunted pub crawl!).
Awesome list!
June 15th, 2011 at 9:09 am
I love the elephany sanctuary idea!
And I’ve never been to Georgia, so I’ll have to check that out.
June 14th, 2011 at 9:24 am
Great list! I can’t think of anything to add right now because I’m not as full of coffee as I need to be to actually form real thoughts. Me thinks a poptart would be good with my coffee!! Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂
June 15th, 2011 at 9:09 am
Pop-Tarts go well with everything!
June 14th, 2011 at 10:07 am
Hey — they have fried green tomatoes at the Cellar Door! I recommend Las Vegas over Atlantic City (sorry if you live in Atlantic City or have some other close tie to it!) only because Atlantic City is too close and there’s just nothing like Vegas. And also a gross reason that I’ll tell you later. 🙂
I agree with the skydiving thing. Also, go to Africa? Go to San Francisco? Get Esme to ride Murphy? Hmmm, still too dangerous. 🙂
June 15th, 2011 at 9:12 am
If Kiefer goes back to ZImbwawe, I may need to go with him so I can do the Walk with Lions thing.
I think Esme riding Murphy could be a possibility.
June 14th, 2011 at 10:28 am
That’s awesome!! I’m pretty bad at coming up with creative ideas, but I can’t wait to hear what you come up with for the last slot 🙂
June 15th, 2011 at 9:13 am
I think one should be come with you on your next trip. Sounds like a good idea to me!
June 14th, 2011 at 11:43 am
Get yourself published? You could write and article or poem or opinion piece and send it around to newspapers or you could take some freelance photography? It would be an awesome keepsake.
June 15th, 2011 at 9:14 am
If only I could make myself sit down and write something. Or had an photography skills whatsoever. Maybe I’ll have to practice.
June 14th, 2011 at 4:41 pm
There is a big cat rescue run by Tippii Heydren (Melanie Griffith’s mother – She starred in Alfred Hitchcoks “The Birds”. It’s near Palmdale CA, (not far from LA.). You can actually sleep in a tent out doors with them wandering around. It sounds pretty exciting.
Can we just add one thing? #35. Sleep with Johnny Depp.
June 15th, 2011 at 9:15 am
Sleeping in a tent with cats wandering around sounds cool!
Also…if only that #35 were even remotely attainable, I’d be in.
June 14th, 2011 at 6:31 pm
Gabi Moskowitz of BrokeAss Gourmet has a homemade Pop-Tart recipe, so you could knock that one out of the way quickly
June 14th, 2011 at 6:32 pm
Let me not forget the period after “quickly.”
June 14th, 2011 at 6:37 pm
That was in response to a comment I made that is in the moderation filter because of links in it, so it doesn’t look like I’m making a random comment out of nowhere.
Stepping away from the computer now…
June 15th, 2011 at 9:17 am
No worries about the period…I do that all the time. Come back to the computer!
June 15th, 2011 at 9:16 am
Thanks for the recipe!
June 14th, 2011 at 11:01 pm
Oh, great list again, Thoughtsy! I like the idea of zip line–heard it’s wonderful in a place like Costa Rica.
June 15th, 2011 at 9:18 am
I’m feeling the zipline, too!
June 15th, 2011 at 6:08 am
I will totally help you with #22 … especially if it involves #4 and/or #14!
June 15th, 2011 at 9:18 am
Crossing 2 things off at once…I like it! Maybe we should shoot for 3.
September 13th, 2011 at 12:25 pm
I am totally in on #4 with both of you!! Besides, I promised Hoody I would take her and I can’t break a promise now can I? So…. you, me, Hoody . . . Ren Fair!! Let’s do this. Seriously, who’s in????
September 13th, 2011 at 12:27 pm
Oh, forgot to add that either we could do that, or you could add #35 as “go to a racetrack and bet on a horse” (I think I had mentioned that in a comment some time back), and that would probably be a halfway point for Hoody and us. Just a thought . . .
June 15th, 2011 at 9:50 am
I’m not far from Atlantic City (well, an hour or so drive). I could meet you there. And bring Pop Tarts. And my sparkling personality. And a dolphin.
June 16th, 2011 at 6:30 am
Excellent idea! Are you up for a moonbounce yet?
June 15th, 2011 at 9:56 am
I love your list idea so much. Would you be horribly offended if I did something similar, like a 50 before 50 type of list? (I’d call it something different.) God, 50 sounds so old! I’ll have to remind myself that it’s not a bucket list!
June 16th, 2011 at 6:32 am
I can’t wait to see what you put on your list!
June 15th, 2011 at 2:08 pm
(13) Donated her hair to Locks of Love a few years ago. You should definitely do it! You could meet two fellow bloggers if you choose Las Vegas for #3! Love your list 🙂
June 16th, 2011 at 6:33 am
Heeeeey… 12 isn’t 13 yet! I’m really hoping Las Vegas works out!
June 15th, 2011 at 2:53 pm
Let Kiefer dress you for a week? this is a dangerous idea.
June 16th, 2011 at 6:34 am
I know. But it’s all about risks, isn’t it?
June 16th, 2011 at 4:56 am
You can’t make your own Pop Tart.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s was boring. I only made it half way.
June 16th, 2011 at 6:34 am
Why can’t I make my own Pop-Tart? Wait…is this reverse psychology?
June 17th, 2011 at 10:22 am

June 18th, 2011 at 3:00 pm
Once again you can knock off more than half your list with a well planned trip to Vegas. Let me know if it does work out and I’ll be your event planner. 🙂
June 20th, 2011 at 7:45 am
Do you charge a fee for event planning? Can I pay you in Pop-Tarts?
June 19th, 2011 at 11:09 pm
Ou! Such a good list! Next week is my 21st birthday, I’m going to start my 25 Before 25 list. Help me build it!
June 20th, 2011 at 7:45 am
Happy early birthday! I’d love to help you with your list. How about drive to California? Oh wait…you did that. =)
June 20th, 2011 at 6:14 am
I’d go with “crash a wedding”. Even though I have until January to finish the list I made for 2011 (halfway through already) I’ve made another one for 2012 and put wedding crashing on there. Its one of the ones I’m looking forward. I like to dress up and don’t get to do it, so by golly I’m just going to get all gussied up and go hang with people who don’t know me. You can be my date if you’d like. hehe.
June 20th, 2011 at 7:48 am
Interesting…we could be like Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.
June 20th, 2011 at 5:50 pm
I should make a list of things I want to do, but there isn’t really all that much. My list would probably just involve the video games I want to beat. I don’t expect much of myself. I saw you had go to a Renaissance Faire on your list. I’ve gone to those. They are awesome. And often have good Italian ice. That comes in an orange! Yum!
June 22nd, 2011 at 9:02 am
You have inspired me. Once I get to work today (ha ha) my plan is to make a similar list, quite possibly incorporating some of your ideas because OH MY GOODNESS some of them are really cool.
Ritas has pretty decent Italian Ice.
I vote fufilling #22 with me–I am totally going to do that Girl Bloggers & Cool Chicks Unite Weekend sometime before I turn 31…possibly that weekend. LOL. Would you be interested in attending? None of us are serial killers, promise!
June 24th, 2011 at 3:20 pm
(A girl. Boys will be returned for store credit.) LOL!!
Good luck getting through this list. I’m so looking forward to reading all about your experiences!
July 4th, 2011 at 12:52 pm
Just wanted to say this is an awesome list, a lot are on my version as well! Have fun!
July 25th, 2011 at 4:24 pm
Well you can quite easily call over to my Space and see The Addams Family, I am sure that I saw one of those lurking behind one of my tombstones the other evening, or was it just a Ghoul? Well it was definitely something anyway. lol As for the other wants on your ’35 Before 35′ list I guess that you will be checking those off one by one and enjoying every minute of your wickedly fine adventure.
Be well now…

For #11, there is a store in Florida that actually sells bottles with paper inside them. They also have a mailing label on the outside so you just add a stamp and you can actually send a message in a bottle.. They may even have a website or something..
October 17th, 2011 at 10:58 pm
What a great list! I love your ideas. I hope to check back again soon and see even more crossed off. Good luck. You have motivated me to come up with a similar list of my own!

November 5th, 2011 at 9:02 am

November 15th, 2011 at 3:01 am

26. Visit the Big Cat Rescue
I also want to do this only because I am in Australia I have no inkling right now if it ever would.
So please please when you go take photos and write lengthy about it so it feels like I went LOL

Better yet, Grab a black shift dress, along with a t/a caffe and crossaint and go Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Experience complete with Henry Mancini tracks on your iPod and it’s a day in the life of your own movie…
February 29th, 2012 at 1:33 pm
The city I live in shows the movie on the big screen once a year and everyone dresses up in their little black dresses. I’m hoping to make it this year!
February 29th, 2012 at 7:47 pm
You will love Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The best character is definitely the cat called Cat.

and..Boys WILL be returned for store credit! Great list!
March 17th, 2012 at 4:52 am
Hi! Love this list, made my own 25 before 25 list, and I wanted to link back to your blog as a thanks for the inspiration/credit for the idea. If that’s okay with you!!
I did the locks for love, and while definitely rewarding make sure you’re prepared for the change! I don’t handle any hair cuts well, so it was a struggle. DEFINITELY worth it though! (also go to a hair dresser you trust!! – key)
Also, can I recommend growing a pineapple? If you buy a pineapple and pick out the seeds you can germinate them, and the pineapple bush is really quite pretty.
March 19th, 2012 at 12:54 pm
I can’t wait to read your 25 Before 25 list!
I’m trying to let my hair grow really long before I cut it. Hopefully that won’t be too traumatic.

Love the list – what a great idea!!! But please swap teh dolphin one for a cockroach or something else. Apparently all the dolphin patting is really bad for them and ends up making them sick 😦
Love the blog!
April 27th, 2012 at 6:01 pm
I saw the list 35 before 35 and got excited about a list I could maybe do. Then I realized I have turned 35. IWork quickly. Apparently senility is just around the corner.

How haven’t you watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s yet?! There’s a reason this movie is referenced all the time. Watch it now. It’s on Netflix streaming. Go.
February 24th, 2013 at 9:16 am
This is quite possibly the most genius idea ever! I feel like I’m totally stuck in a rut in my life right now and I’m only 24 (How can that be, seriously?!?!). Perhaps I need to “spice” things up a bit and set some achievable goals for myself, similar to that of a bucket list.
Ps. You definitely need to hit up Vegas! You will have zero regrets (Or maybe you will, but regardless they’ll be worth it!) It’s the only great decision I’ve made in my life thus far!
May 22nd, 2013 at 5:39 pm
I love that you want to go to the Sweet Potato Queens Parade (granted it was better several years ago before the Queens separated from the larger Jackson St. Patty’s Day Parade), but it would still be a great experience–especially since Jackson MS is a beautiful city to visit!!
July 2nd, 2013 at 8:43 am
I love this idea you have here. I’ve done several of the items on your “Bucket List.” I’m trying to learn more Spanish, I’ve been to Vegas last November (30th bday…whoo!), I’ve been on two cruises outside the country, I’ve visited several states I haven’t been to, and planning to do more in two weeks. I’ve been to the 9-11 site, I’ve been married, I’m from New Orleans, so of course I’ve been to many parades, I’ve ridden an elephant (as a kid), and have tasted fried-green tomatoes (not half bad). Anyway, I’ve written enough…;)
You’ve inspired me to create a list. I’ll create a blog post about it, and send you a “Pingback.”
July 2nd, 2013 at 9:03 am

July 24th, 2014 at 11:14 pm
I am Pop-Tart-Less.
“Locks of Love” are not as they appear. They take the donated hair and only use a very small percentage to be made into wigs. Don’t get Me wrong– they DO it… its just that 80-90% of ALL received donations are usually thrown away. PLUS, they don’t give their wigs out to those who are in need, they sell them.
Boo on Locks of Love!!

I had 3 girls. One right after another Bam boom bam. When I chose to have a forth I did not want a boy (One too many major (possibly disfiguring) life changing decisions to make for another person’s life on day one…circumcise or not?!
I love my girls. We have our girl days. Go shopping and I have fun listening about some of the “been there” girl moments that they just won’t ever life through! Omg!
My boys are so much simpler. They’re all jokes facts and they make me feel like I am their super hero. I have two boys and although I would never change the order in which they were born I always tell these moms who are new to a particular sex that it’s something your not used to. I never wanted any boys and I’m so happy we don’t always get what we wished for.
And yes as with most (all but 6, my first major is not on the list) of my major life choices I always regret it. Don’t cut that precious baby body part. Circumcision is out dated and If the stupid argument of ” Not looking like dad down there” question ever does come up all you say is “Daddys parents didn’t love him like we love you.”
