I’m a 32-year-old woman…who isn’t sure when she crossed the threshold of girlhood into womanhood.
Maybe it was when I…
- Got a grown-up job as a technical writer.
- Survived an earthquake.
- Cuddled with a wolf and a dolphin.
- Married Kiefer Sutherland after 5 excruciatingly long years.
- Suffered two miscarriages.
- Realized preparing for the zombie apocalypse meant more than hoarding chocolate.
Most likely, it was after my body could no longer handle eating Pop-Tarts every day without some weight gain retaliation.
What I Will Blog About?
Desserts. Movies. My husband Kiefer and my two stepsons Boo and Radley. And our baby girl who’s on the way!
Time permitting, I’ll probably also write about these things:
Likes: Penguins, Books, Movies (especially horror), Halloween, Ellipses, Serial Commas, Cats, Cookies, Chocolate, Cupcakes, Motorcycles, Butterflies, Pop-Tarts
Neutral: Bacon
Dislikes: Coffee, Cucumbers, Cantaloupes, Chocolate Oranges, Food Contamination (Plates with dividers are my best friend. I hate my food touching.)
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
May 18th, 2010 at 9:39 am
Ok, finally had time to delve deeper into Thought’s Appear. Thank God I’ve found another woman that loves horror movies and cats! 🙂 Actually, Best Friend and I love horror movies. We get to spend time together away from husbands and significant others because they are too wimpy! PLUS, I have a motorcycle! Your blog is really well laid-out. I’m subscribed to several, but can tell you this is going to be a total favorite. Thanks for listening to my ramblings!
May 18th, 2010 at 10:24 am
Horror movies and cats and a motorcycle? Oh, this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship….
May 21st, 2010 at 9:47 am
Watched “Human Centipede” last night…no horror, just horrible! Want to buy a motorcycle? 🙂
May 21st, 2010 at 11:00 am
But it’s called Human Centipede…I feel like I have to watch it. I may be interested in the motorcycle.
July 2nd, 2010 at 1:44 pm
My best friend told me about this horror movie and I had nightmares just from the description. There’s no way I am watching it. Just sick! How do people’s minds come up with this stuff.
May 24th, 2011 at 12:24 pm
I watched this movie a couple months ago. All I can say is EWWWW!
May 23rd, 2013 at 8:31 am
I never ever ever ever ever want to see any of the Human Centipede movies. Yes, there’s more than one.
I’ll stick with the South Park parody of it. I can almost watch that one without gagging.
May 18th, 2010 at 10:00 am
and added you to my Blogroll.
May 19th, 2010 at 10:06 am
Added you to my Blogroll, because you’re funny and clever. Yet another woman on there – WTF? I don’t even like women. I can feel a post brewing…
May 19th, 2010 at 10:23 am
You’re on my Blogroll, too, for the same reasons. Us funny and clever people need to stick together. And you just made me realize all of the blogs on my Blogroll are also by women. I wonder what that means….
May 20th, 2010 at 11:36 am
Because you love cats & motorcycles, that outweighs the dislike of coffee & cucumbers (more for meeeee) in my book. Can’t wait to delve into your posts, after more coffee of course!
May 21st, 2010 at 7:00 am
I like the way coffee smells. Does that help?
May 21st, 2010 at 9:39 am
Sure! LOL (And me too on the women bloggers – which is odd for me.) 🙂
May 24th, 2010 at 10:24 pm
Nice blog! I also ❤ cupcakes. A LOOOOT. 🙂
June 13th, 2010 at 6:37 am
Cupcakes are tasty and it’s fun decorating them. Is 7:30 in the morning too early for a cupcake? =)
June 13th, 2010 at 1:58 am
This is by far the best blog-site I came across today. I have been in search for a different style of bloggery. Looking for that witty yet flamboyant degree of style. Too tired of reading about motherhood and their ramblings, while my blog is full of them. Though it’s under construction, I shall add you to my list so you may browse my boring blogging.
Motorcycle eh! That’s my type of fun. Do you guys ride often?
Katz~
June 13th, 2010 at 6:39 am
Thank you. I don’t ride as much as I’d like. Do you ride?
June 14th, 2010 at 11:57 am
Sorry for late reply, I was engaged in deep conversations with our neighbor about our backyard.
Yes I do 🙂 I’ve been riding since I was 8 yrs old. My dad was a motorcycle instructor back in the Philippines. I tagged along with my dad’s crew & every trail possible they climb with their induros.
I hop on my hubby’s ninja 636 now, after having a dislocated hip when I was 15. I look forward to buying my own bike and ride-along with my hubby 🙂
How about you? Will you be riding this summer?
June 20th, 2010 at 11:08 am
Now I need to see your backyard. =) That’s so cool that you’ve been riding since you were that young. Is the Ninja comfy? Last time I was on a crotch rocket for a long time, I was in pain.
March 24th, 2015 at 4:21 pm
I’m so sorry this has taken ages to post.
The backyard wasn’t at all that great. We have moved and now maintaining the yard isn’t such a problem anymore-
Anything I could get my hands and body in or on, I’m there- (hehe)
The ninja is comfy for me. I’m just not used to riding it myself. I almost bought one, but when I found out about the bike’s history, I had to back out on the deal.
It’s that time of year again and I look forward to riding with friends.
I have a new hobby as well. There’s about 50 snakes in the house 🙂

confusion doesn’t always equal unhappiness
Every period of confusion in my life prior to this one sent me into a somewhat depressed state. I have realized just in the past couple of months that doing that has caused me to miss out on things in other parts of my life that are quite happy.
Probably still very vague.
But I love your blog 🙂 and your spirit.
June 20th, 2010 at 11:05 am
That makes sense. And thank you!
July 2nd, 2010 at 9:29 am
Haha, ellipse love ❤ Nice blog, I'll be following it… (that wasn't meant to sound creepy)
July 2nd, 2010 at 12:10 pm
Thank you! And no worries. You don’t sound creepy. But I’ll be watching you just in case. Wait…did that sound creepy? =)
July 4th, 2010 at 2:32 am
Not creepy enough to freak me out 🙂 Haha
September 7th, 2010 at 9:01 pm
Wait! When did the theme change? It looks great — I just somehow missed the switch!
September 8th, 2010 at 6:24 am
Thanks! I think I changed it on Friday. Anyone who visited that day probably thought my blog was exploding.
September 15th, 2010 at 11:07 am
Tell Kiefer to move over! Thor is in town!
September 21st, 2010 at 1:02 am
Hi, nice to meet you !
October 1st, 2010 at 8:19 am
We have so much in common, though I’m not a big fan of motorcycles, but I love coffee. Hey, we’ve all got our hangups, right? Have you ever thought of getting a motorcycle sidecar and a little helmet/goggles set for your cat? It’s my mom’s idea, which I think is hilarious. She wants to be a park ranger and take her cat along. Now I’ve got myself laughing. 😀
October 1st, 2010 at 10:27 am
My cat would have a heart attack in a motorcycle sidecar. But I’m accepting applications for human passengers. But you have to wear a collander or saucepan as a helmet.
October 5th, 2010 at 7:51 am
Sounds like fun to me!
October 1st, 2010 at 12:59 pm
I love the concept of being a semi-adult. 😀
October 1st, 2010 at 2:10 pm
I think I’m going to be a semi-adult for awhile.
October 1st, 2010 at 5:06 pm
I think I’ll Peter Pan and just not grow up. I think we all should follow that mantra.
October 1st, 2010 at 1:38 pm
I don’t intend on having children. But Esme was the name I was going to give the daughter I would never have. So…great minds and all…
October 1st, 2010 at 2:09 pm
It is a beautiful name.
April 15th, 2012 at 4:03 pm
It is a beautiful name, isn’t it? And “For Esmé — With Love and Squalor” is unquestionably one of the most beautiful short stories in all of American Literature.
Not quite three-and-a-half years ago, on a bleak and brumous Thanksgiving Day, at the Hotel Boulderado, I sat next to a girl whose name was Esme. She and I had a brief conservation much like this one, and that is why I thought I’d leave this comment here.
October 11th, 2010 at 9:09 am
Don’t like chocolate orange? What a crying shame!
Well, your comment about horror movies moved me. I’m personally in raptures over the Resident Evil films, my boyfriend can’t understand how a film-studies minor like me could love them.. I think it’s my undying tolerance of good ideas and non-boobied heroines.
Of course, cannot go past the Alien movies – again with the chest-challenged star, a pattern perhaps?
Any good horrors on your side of the fence?
October 11th, 2010 at 12:30 pm
Hmmm…The Evil Dead movies hold a special spot on my shelf, but The Orphanage and Pan’s Labyrinth by Guillermo Del Toro were really good.
There’s something about the crazy killers in the Wrong Turn movie that freaked me out.
I think the Alien movies were the first scary movies I ever watched…. Maybe that’s why aliens freak me out.
October 19th, 2010 at 3:57 pm
You should check out The Devil’s Backbone (if you haven’t already). It’s one of Del Toro’s earlier works but just as creepy as anything else he’s done.
October 21st, 2010 at 6:13 am
I just added it to my Netflix queue. Thank you for the suggestion!
October 13th, 2010 at 8:27 am
Thanks for checking out my blog! Yes, of course you can have a hot chocolate party – altho I am sure that is a rhetorical question, as who am I to give permission to have tea/hot choc parties!? 😉
I turned 30 this year, I feel your pain ( altho it turned out less painful once I was over that hump). You have a great blog, glad to have found it, thanks!
October 19th, 2010 at 12:38 pm
Hiya,
Just a heads-up that I passed along a little blog award your way today. 🙂 Enjoy!

BTW I love your “Empire Records” reference. I heart me some Lucas.
…. “the fat man walks alone…”
November 2nd, 2010 at 8:30 am
Thanks! It’s one of my favorite movies. I’m pretty sure I can recite it word-for-word.
November 21st, 2010 at 10:49 am
Hey, when you get a chance, shoot me an email at omawarisansblog at gmail.com? My trouble making hussy action figure is going to be up your way and wondered if you still wanted a visit from her.
O
November 30th, 2010 at 7:28 pm
I love the manner in which your ‘thoughts appear’. Incidentally, my cat Camille calls her Keith (my boyfriend) her ‘Keefer’. So we have that in common… along with our love of sweets. 🙂
November 30th, 2010 at 9:21 pm
You taught your cat to speak? You rock!
December 9th, 2010 at 9:28 am
My better half has read me a few thing from you that made me laugh so I figured I should just read it myself. Look forward to the laughs at work.
December 9th, 2010 at 2:37 pm
When I was looking at your blog, I was wondering if you knew a fellow blogger. I know who your better half is!
December 9th, 2010 at 3:18 pm
Shhhhhhh!!! LMAO!
January 13th, 2011 at 2:52 pm
I’m extremely jealous of people who can watch horror movies! I’m not allowed to after the Silent Hill debacle of 2009…
January 28th, 2011 at 8:57 pm
I just found your blog today and I love it! You’re fabulous. Can’t wait to read more 🙂
March 2nd, 2011 at 10:08 pm
Popped over to your blog from Unabridged Girl. I find it hilarious! Mostly because in your header you have two Empire Records quotes. I think we might be soulmates.
March 3rd, 2011 at 7:42 am
I love me some Kenzie! So you’re an Empire Records fan, too? Love that movie!
March 3rd, 2011 at 8:31 am
I love butterflies so much I wrote a post about them 🙂
March 30th, 2011 at 8:15 pm
i love chocolate!!! and also dislike coffee… that pic with the kitten in the poptart box is adorable! lol great blog!!!
April 30th, 2011 at 5:05 pm
Thank you!
April 30th, 2011 at 12:21 pm
I hate my food touching, too. And places that have the nerve to put on gravy without my permission. Anyway, I was looking around for new blogs to check out, and yours looked interesting. So here I am.
April 30th, 2011 at 5:05 pm
Thanks for stopping by, fellow food seperater!
May 24th, 2011 at 8:23 am
YOU are a very funny writer! I’ve just subscribed. 🙂
May 24th, 2011 at 12:26 pm
Woo-hoo! Thank you! I saw your name on another blog, and I thought “Mmmmm…sprinkles.” And the kitten pic was a plus.
May 24th, 2011 at 11:03 am
Just wanted to let you know (from comments above) that as if Human Centipede wasn’t bad enough, they are working on a sequel!
May 24th, 2011 at 12:25 pm
Noooooo! Ewww…I barely finished watching the first one. I had to stop it like 3 times.
May 26th, 2011 at 3:14 pm
When I first went onto your blog, I had no idea you were an adult. I love adults who can still have fun!!! I think that adults are just kids with money. Well, sort of… at least.
May 31st, 2011 at 6:47 am
Being able to drive makes it easier to do some things, too!
May 26th, 2011 at 3:16 pm
Ohhh, and a question! What’s this whole “Human Centipede” movie??? I love horror movies as long as there isn’t too much blood and guts. Have you seen the roomate?
May 31st, 2011 at 6:59 am
The Human Centipede was gross. I don’t recommend it. What’s The Roommate about?
May 29th, 2011 at 1:28 am
Nice blog. Been enjoying reading since you were freshly pressed, and gonna keep on…adding you to my blog roll.
I also detest cucumbers, but we must part ways when it comes to coffee 🙂
May 31st, 2011 at 7:01 am
Thanks! I’m glad you’re enjoying my blog. I completely understand that I’m out on a limb by myself when it comes to disliking coffee.
June 6th, 2011 at 9:33 pm
Loved this recipe! I posted it up on my blog as well- http://www.foodiefindsnyc.blogspot.com. Thanks so much for sharing. And your blog is great!

I’m glad I subscribed to your blog. Anyone who likes Pop-Tarts is cool in my book.
July 15th, 2011 at 2:48 pm
Since we can’t comment the gravatars, i had no other choice than to place my comment here, wich is…you gravatar picture is irresistible!!, i say this with a mix of respect and a little smile! (hard to put some feelings into text sometimes)

If Chocolates and Pop Tarts are your forte,
then I will prompt the Skeletons and Ghouls
to give you a tasty welcome if you choose
to step inside My Gothic Realm…
All you need is courage and of course a few
sticks of Garlic flavoured chewing gum, a mallet
and some sharpened stakes… Oh, before I forget
be careful as you pass the third Zombie on the
right… He tends to be a little bit naughty to new
peeps calling by but he is harmless enough…
Well he is when tied down and thrashed with a
creepy looking Skeletons leg bone…
I will be calling back and having a browse around
your Space, it is the best one that I have frequented
this day and sooooooooooooooooooooo… I will be
be back, as the Terminator often says… lol
Androgoth 🙂
November 4th, 2011 at 7:06 pm
Ok. I have only recently (5 years) made peace with *certain* foods touching. I’m not sure why coffee is in your dislike list. Clearly that’s a typo. Right? Right??
Ellipses are… well… they’re AWESOME! I probably abuse their use but umm…. that’s me.
November 5th, 2011 at 9:03 am
Nah…coffee isn’t a typo. I love ellipses, too. I knew we were separated at birth!
February 9th, 2012 at 2:26 pm
Hello, your blog is lovely. I need some more wit in my life, do you mind if I follow it??! 🙂

Thank you for making my day brighter through your blog!
March 21st, 2012 at 1:33 pm
HI! I have actually thought long and hard about if I could only eat food that started with a specific letter, what that letter should be. (I note that your’s would not be “C”) Mine would be P. Pizza, pasta, popcorn, POP-TARTS, pancakes, potatoes….P is a good food letter.
I also love the photo of the adorable kitten in the pop-tart box. Please tell me this is your cat.
LOVE the lists of things to do before you are 30/35. I may use this idea also. Can’t wait to explore your blog more!

May 21st, 2012 at 1:29 pm
The only thing that upset me about this, was that you dislike cucumbers and coffee, and that you had an affair with my beloved Keifer 😉
Other than that your blog makes me laugh LOADS 🙂 so thanks!

[…] Thoughtzarella– When Thoughtsy went through an emotionally and physically wrenching miscarriage recently, she became a fixture of my thoughts for quite a while (and the inspiration for a post). Not often has someone’s personal plight lifted me out of my selfish bubble to pray for their peace. Thoughtsy has. A strong woman and a great writer. (Also, there is a deep secret on one of her posts about me, but you’ll have to go find that on your own.) […]

When I was pregnant with my first child, I craved Brown Sugar Frosted Pop Tarts every minute of my pregnancy. I even bought them by the case. Luckily I still love Pop Tarts and will be heading to the store after this to get some. Just seeing those two words gives me the shakes! Great blog!

I have just spent every spare moment of the last three days reading your blog.
I may or may not have decided that I think you are awesome.
I was also going to tell you the one time I tried Pop-Tarts I didn’t like them, but I have decided to give them a chance because we don’t really see them around here in Britain that much and I really want to like them, especially now I love your blog and you’re my new favourite person.

Hey!
If you like writing about cats, perhaps you’d like to receive a Purrfectbox, full of great kitty snacks, treats & goodies, for you to review on your blog? Not quite a pop-tart, but probably healthier for your cat!
Thanks,
Will

You got me at kitten flavored pop tarts – hilarious! Not impressed about dolphin or wolf. I have cuddled wolves, tigers, giant snakes, howler monkeys and anything else that won’t run away from me. I have also had ringworm (many times) and a parasite – perhaps there is a link…?
