Esme is a pretty lazy cat. Or maybe she is snobby has extremely high standards for what she’ll play with.
Esme used to play with her mouse toys all the time. Then in my old house, she started catching real mice. And birds.
Now she wants nothing to do with her toy mice.
So I tried something different. But she didn’t want the computer mouse either.

Not surprised. Esme is entirely too smart to fall for the computer mouse.
Well played Esme.

Aww, poor Esme. Once she got a taste of the real thing, those faux meeces were just poor substitutes. You might wanna keep a keen watch on Ozzy . . . once those kitties get the taste of blood, they will not be sated. Be ever vigilant!

Aww, look at her! She is obviously very sophisticated. She is looking at the camera with disdain, like “humans” (and then she probably rolls her eyes).

Picture caption: “I spit on your so-called mouse. Phooey. Now, buy me some real life varmints to chase. Do I look like an amateur?”

That is one gorgeous cat 🙂

Mine likes to play with string. That’s it. He’s 10 and SO beyond mice. But nothing beats chasing his tail. Or pretending something is hiding under the bathroom rug. Esme knows better. Maybe if you roll it around in cat nip.

My cat likes to play fetch with his toy octopus… (there’s a sentence I never thought I’d say!) Maybe Esme is simply tired of land creatures. haha

When you can have the real Tom and Jerry show, why have fake?

I am so obsessed with cats, specifically black cats. Does your black cat jump high?? Mine does..and so does my friends black cat. I love black cats. Black cats got mad hops.

You gotta’ try harder than that, Thoughtsy. Someone once told me cats don’t do tricks because they see how stupid they are. Doing tricks is “beneath them.” Falling for fake toys seems to apply too.

Ah, once you have the real thing nothing compares! You know, like QVC swearing their Diamonique sparkles ‘just like a Diamond’, um NO!!

I keep re-reading “You call this a mouse? It doesn’t even have a tail?” over and over again in my head and laughing. My cat has given us that face before – complete and total disdain for us, his dim-witted human slaves.
I only think he keeps us around because he doesn’t have opposable thumbs to open the cupboard where we keep his food. 😉

I think she’s just mad because Grumpy Cat is the next internet sensation.

I have a sophisticat too. My girl turns her nose up a shop bought toys and prefers to destroy soft furnishings as her hobby of choice. She is currently vandalising a very expensive leather chair and has annihilated the sofa. She looks happy. Which is nice.

Ack. Yes, Mine goes for the real, bleedy kind of toy. And he brings the damn things inside, because they’re more fun to play with in my lounge aparantly.
He will play wih ribbons and things, but only if I wiggle them for him. He’s too much of a drama cat to just play on his own.
