This is what happens when you send me to the store for ice cream. Consider yourself warned.
Ice cream wasn’t enough for me. I needed cake and ice cream. (In addition to ice cream, I also came home with giant star-shaped marshmallows because, you know…giant star marshmallows!)
Why are you looking at me like that? The carrot cake ice cream counts as a vegetable.
Narrowing it down to 3 flavors was difficult because there was also Butterscotch Krimpet ice cream. But don’t worry. I’m going back to get it this weekend.
In case you were wondering, the triple chocolate cake flavor was my favorite. You probably knew that.

Now, see? This is where I get confused on the whole orange food thing. To me, carrot cake and pumpkin bread are similar. I know you hate pumpkin, so I would have guessed you would avoid carrot cake. You are a complex woman, Thoughtsy.
June 11th, 2012 at 7:45 am
It’s weird. I like most orange things. Pumpkins are the exception.
June 7th, 2012 at 7:42 am
I saw those BB pints at the store. I almost bought the Wedding Cake flavor, but Duff’s face scared the bejesus out of me, so I didn’t buy it.
You’re right. Carrot cake ice cream does count as a vegetable.
P.S. – Who glued these quarters down?
June 11th, 2012 at 7:58 am
I don’t feel that I need to explain my art to you, Ally.
What’s with the wedding cake flavors? I saw wedding cake flavored fudge this weekend.
June 11th, 2012 at 9:16 am
It’s June. The wedding flavored month of the year. Ha!!
June 7th, 2012 at 8:01 am
Wait . . . wha??? Butterscotch Krimpet ICE CREAM?? I love those things. Or at least I did when I was like 12, so I imagine I would enjoy the ice cream.
No pic of the giant star shaped marshmallows?? For shame, Thoughtsy. For shame.
And carrot cake ice cream TOTALLY counts as a veggie. Just don’t tell my kids that. 😉
June 11th, 2012 at 7:59 am
Butterscotch Krimpets are probably my favorite snack cake.
PS: I totally typed “butterscrotch” the first time.
June 7th, 2012 at 8:04 am
The triple chocolate *was* your favourite? Past tense? Did you eat all the ice cream already? No wonder you have to go back and buy more on the weekend!
June 11th, 2012 at 7:59 am
It was only a pint. And Boo helped.
June 7th, 2012 at 8:13 am
I’ll spend a half hour evaluating my ice cream choices, whether it’s for a cone or a pint, but then walk out with Butter Pecan. Every time.
June 11th, 2012 at 8:08 am
Now I’m afraid to try Butter Pecan.
June 7th, 2012 at 8:22 am
I choose carrot cake as my side veggie any day!
June 7th, 2012 at 8:29 am
Well, I learned from Cosby that cake counts as breakfast food (cake has eggs and milk, and it’s kind of like bread, which is a key ingredient in toast), so I guess carrot cake ice cream counts as a vegetable!
June 7th, 2012 at 8:32 am
I like the way you think.
June 7th, 2012 at 8:52 am
Carrot cake counts as a vegetable and oatmeal cookies are healthy (despite the 2 sticks of butter. Oats cancel Butter.).
June 8th, 2012 at 12:14 am
Ummm. then what makes them healthy? I thought it was the butter. Oats are glorified cardboard scraps.
June 8th, 2012 at 6:11 am
BROWN Sugar. Duh.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:05 am
These ice creams cover the three basic food groups: vegetables, chocolate, and, um, red.
June 11th, 2012 at 8:09 am
Red is a food group! Is blue one too?
June 11th, 2012 at 8:42 am
All of them are. Except for gray because eww.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:31 am
Chocolate can be a vegetable too!
June 11th, 2012 at 8:10 am
Does it count as a bean?
June 7th, 2012 at 11:58 am
I will never be able to eat something called Carrot Cake Ice Cream, my digestive track will die – but please explain in great detail what it tasted like so I can vicariously (and creepily) live through you.
June 7th, 2012 at 12:09 pm
Carrot Cake Ice Cream, I am still trying to wrap my mind around that one but hey, I am also willing to give it a try and you say it counts as a vegetable!
June 7th, 2012 at 1:52 pm
Who is that in your avatar picture? It can’t be you, because you have GOT to have a bottom as big as a hippo’s. Your sweet tooth puts mine to shame, and there is no justice anywhere in the world if you can eat all that crap (yummy, delightful, I-want-it, but still crap) and stay so skinny!
June 11th, 2012 at 8:11 am
Hanging upside down makes my thighs appear more flattering.
June 7th, 2012 at 1:57 pm
You made the right decision. One should NEVER have to choose between ice cream flavors. I would have come home with four tubs.
June 11th, 2012 at 8:11 am
If only Kiefer had more freezer space.
June 7th, 2012 at 2:38 pm
If onion rings and mashed potatoes count as vegetables at Cracker Barrel, why not carrot cake?
June 11th, 2012 at 8:12 am
I think onion rings and mashed potatoes are two of my favorite veggies.
June 7th, 2012 at 2:39 pm
Butterscotch Krimpet! You really did take a big weight of my shoulders when you said you were going back for it.
June 7th, 2012 at 2:40 pm
*off
June 8th, 2012 at 12:12 am
I like the image of Thoughtsy taking a big weight of your shoulders. Damn, girl, those shoulders must be H.E.A.V.Y.
June 8th, 2012 at 6:42 am
You should’ve seen what happened when she told me about confetti cupcake Pop Tarts.
June 7th, 2012 at 2:39 pm
Wait, carrot cake ice cream!?
June 7th, 2012 at 4:00 pm
Triple chocolate cake ice cream… I’m coming to visit with a huge spoon 😉
Cheers
Choc Chip Uru
June 11th, 2012 at 8:13 am
The container is pint sized. So make sure it’s not too big.
June 7th, 2012 at 4:38 pm
You bet it does. You make me proud. And to think I settled for boring old mint chocolate chip yesturday. I’ll have to get me some of that triple chocolate cake, that’s what life is all about. You really are the best. Did I tell you, you really are the best? Light & Flavors.
June 11th, 2012 at 8:14 am
Mint chocolate chip is Kiefer’s favorite.
June 7th, 2012 at 8:32 pm
Hey, thanks for the warning – now, can you run to the store and pick me up some ice cream??? I’ll take three containers of WHATEVER, but if two out of three turn out to be triple chocolate cake, NO PROBLEM! And, YES, carrot cake ice cream SO counts as a vegetable! (Carrots should not be in any other form.)
June 11th, 2012 at 8:15 am
I only pick up ice cream if I can have some. Are we sharing?
June 11th, 2012 at 8:42 am
Of course, we’re sharing – I’m Amiable Amiable! But I get 80% of anything chocolate.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:03 pm
It has always been my contention that carrot cake is a salad. Covering it in icing doesn’t make it a dessert. Therefore, you can serve carrot cake, but I want a piece of chocolate cake at the very end of the meal.
June 11th, 2012 at 8:15 am
A salad! Genius!
June 7th, 2012 at 11:49 pm
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM. And if Carrot cake ice cream is a vegetable, then can we call Fig Newtons a fruit?
June 11th, 2012 at 8:15 am
I hope so! I love Fig Newtons.
June 8th, 2012 at 12:10 am
My thoughts have nothing to do with whether or not carrot cake counts as a vegetable (it does, incidentally). I don’t think this is about your love of ice cream at all. I think you have a crush on that guy on the container. I am SOOO telling Keifer.
June 11th, 2012 at 8:16 am
Duff? I love him only for his desserts.
June 11th, 2012 at 2:06 pm
Does Keifer concur?
June 8th, 2012 at 7:03 am
I don’t think I’ve ever met a flavor I didn’t like in ice cream. Jelly beans, yes, ice cream no. You can take ANYTHING, add sugar and cream and instant yummy. I mean I even think you can make brussel sprouts appetizing.
June 11th, 2012 at 8:18 am
Brussel sprouts…is that a challenge?
June 8th, 2012 at 9:36 am
Chocolate has antioxidants. You’re totally doing your body good with all that ice cream. Or, at least, that’s what I tell myself when I eat 3 ice cream sandwiches in one day.
June 8th, 2012 at 10:09 am
I’m going to forget you told me about Red Velvet and Triple Chocolate Cake ice cream. I would NOT be able to eat just one bowl.
June 8th, 2012 at 10:56 am
Mmmm…triple chocolate cake. That sounds amazing.
Other things you might not know that count as healthy:
1. Snickers = dairy and protein
2. Ice cream = dairy
3. Pizza = dairy (cheese) and veggies (tomato sauce and possibly toppings)
4. Apple, pumpkin, strawberry and other fruit pies = fruit
5. Strawberry shortcake = fruit
and my personal favorite…
6. Watermelon infused with vodka = fruit
June 11th, 2012 at 8:18 am
I’m off to get a Snickers!
June 8th, 2012 at 11:33 am
Okay, when I stop on the way home tonight for ice cream you’re going to be totally responsible! Well, you and my lack of self control!
June 9th, 2012 at 11:14 am
Triple chocolate would be RIGHT up my alley. I don’t judge for trying all three. It doesn’t hurt to be sure…..plus it WAS semi-healthy…. 🙂
June 14th, 2012 at 3:20 pm
I 100% back you on your statement that carrot cake is a vegetable because as a big fan of pralines & cream, I wholeheartedly believe pralines are of the healthy nut variety. 🙂
