Nom, nom, nom….
I made the best cookies ever. Ev-er. Seriously. Remember the Cheddar Onion Crack Bread? Cookies of that tasty caliber.
Cookies that were so good, Kiefer had to hold me back I had to hold Kiefer back, so I could snap this picture of the last 2 cookies.
And what’s even better about this cookie recipe is that it follows Thoughtsy’s 5 ingredient rule.
I love baking. And I love eating my treats. But I hate when a recipe has a list 20 lines long of ingredients. I don’t have that kind of patience.
Without further ado, the crack cookie recipe:
- 1 package of white cake mix
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup of veggie-ta-bull oil
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips (I added about 1/4 cup more chocolate chips. Or you could add nuts.)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix everything up. Roll the batter into 1-inch balls (Tee-hee. 1-inch balls). Lightly grease the baking sheet. Bake for about 10 minutes.
The recipe comes from my Taste of Home cookbook, so you know it’s good stuff.
Just to ensure you did it right, you should probably send me a sample cookie. Make that 2 sample cookies. For quality control.

Yum! I love coconut! Can I use real crack in place of nuts or chocolate chips?

You weren’t kidding, those look way exciting to me. Cookies made from cake mix are always a winner, want want want want want.

“Your balls are so tender…”
That’s a little old skool SNL for ya.
Seriously though, I like just about ANYTHING with coconut, so I’ll probably be planning on making these soon…

These could get me in trouble. I’m deleting this recipe immediately. And holding up a cross in front of my computer. I am also grabbing a rosary and a Koran. Who knows! Maybe I can find some holy water to sprinkle on the keyboard.

I love Taste of Home . I had a subscription to the monthly magazine years ago. I punched holes in them and put them in a binder to make my own ‘book.’
I also have a 4-Ingredient cookbook. Every recipe has four ingredients or fewer.
That’s right. I said ‘fewer.’
I’m heading back to my geek cave now.
May I have a cookie to take with me?

Nobody will ever top the Oreo.
Hey, I love the name of your blog. It’s cool.

Looks tasty! I hate 20 ingredient recipes too. I only bake from a recipe if its a few ingredients. Otherwise, I put my own ingredients together and hope it turns out okay. I’ve actually made quite a few things that turned out pretty good that way!

You read my mind and scare the crap out of me.
Today as I was driving i was thinking “boy, summer makes me think of coconuts…I wish I had a simple coconut cookie recipe”. I SWEAR to you.
You just made my day.
Though, because I am allergic to chocolate, I will try these with cinnamon chips, peanut butter chips, butterscotch chips and plain, to see which alternative would work for me. Nom Nom Nom.

That sounds amazing! I just made chocolate chip cookies with yellow cake mix and was shocked at how tasty they were, so I’ll definitely be trying out this coconut version.
