Horror Movie Marathon Tradition: Friday the 13th

Halloween is almost here! Finding my costume ridiculously early this year lured me into a false sense of security. I thought I was set. I thought I was ready. But au contraire, my blogger friends.

  • Costume? Check.
  • Costume Accessories? Check.
  • Backup-In-Case-I-Change-My-Mind-an-Hour-Before-the-Party Costume? Check.
  • Horror Movie Marathon? Fiddlesticks.

Every October I watch loads of horror movies to get me in the spooky spirit. Some are movies I’ve seen before, and others are movies I’ve never seen. In addition to the random movies, I also watch a horror movie series. In the past I’ve viewed these series:

  • Halloween
  • Saw
  • Nightmare on Elm Street
  • Hellraiser

I perused Netflix to try and find a series to watch this year. The Omen? Jaws? Just as I was about to settle for Chuckie in Child’s Play, I saw it. A movie that I, Thoughts Appear, a horror movie fanatic, am ashamed to admit I have never seen. A legend even older than I am.

Friday the 13th.

How does that even happen? How is it possible that I’ve never seen any of the Friday the 13th movies? Somewhere in the journey of life I took a wrong turn.

Well, Jason Voorhees, I’m pleased to make your acquaintenance. We’re about to be seeing a lot of each other. Because I have 12 days to watch all of your movies.
