Where did I leave off with my last post? Oh yes, sharing my birthday with Father’s Day and the best present ever from last year.
Last year another celebration was added to June 20th. A good friend of mine got married to her boyfriend. She had a little birthday cake for me at her wedding, too.
Last year’s birthday was very special for another reason.
At the wedding, Kiefer Sutherland and I were standing outside on the patio, the sun was just beginning to set, and the wedding photographer found us so adorable that she snapped a few pictures of us.
Kiefer and I were standing there, just holding each other for a few moments before wedding reception madness ensued, and he said this:
“You know that thing you’re always worried about? You don’t need to worry about it anymore. Because the answer is yes.”
I hugged him so tight that I probably nearly cut off his circulation. Then I pulled back and (because I’m a dork) babbled something like:
“Are you talking about what I think you’re talking about? Because I just want to make sure we’re talking about the same thing. Because I don’t want to get all excited and then find out you’re talking about something totally different. So what are you talking about?”
He smiled at me (also because he thinks I’m a dork) and said, “We’re talking about the same thing.”
Have I lost you? Probably. Read this post to catch up. That birthday conversation from last year was the Yes-I-Want-Children-With-You conversation. And it came just in time.
It was the best birthday present Kiefer could have given me. I don’t even remember what my actual gift was because this conversation overshadowed it.
So a few days ago Kiefer Sutherland asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I didn’t know how to even begin to answer. I feel like there are only a few things that could possibly top last year’s “gift.”
Good luck, Kiefer!

No cake so far. But I did receive a Mrs. Fields cookie that is the size of a pizza. Just as tasty!

Is it wrong of me to wish a gift for you? Perhaps something that starts with “E” and ends with “gagement ring?”

I wish!

This is wonderful! My husband’s birthday is also on June 20th, tomorrow. I wish you the loveliest birthday ever! I know it’s important to celebrate the year you are born, it’s a blessing and gift for living and existing in this planet. I tell my husband that everyday, he doesn’t seem to understand its value. (it’s a long story-perhaps I can share with you the history at a different time)
Enjoy your day and Happy Birthday once again!

That cake looks amazing! That’s exactly how I would’ve eaten it, too.

It had raspberry or strawberry filling inside. Tasty! But I’m an icing girl.
