To help with Halloween candy withdraw, I’ve been eating lots of desserts. Tasty desserts that I can’t get enough of.
Desserts that are just a little too tasty, if you know what I mean.
And that means there’s only one explanation: Crack.
Here’s a cupcake from a local bakery. Look at all the icing!
Apparently, my go-to cupcake is Red Velvet. The cupcake below may be the best I’ve ever had.
While I was in NYC for work, I ducked into a bar for a drink and alcoholic dessert.
After eating my share of cupcakes, I switched to smores.
After eating so much junk, I thought I should switch to something healthier. Something like this frozen yogurt.
Don’t judge me. I’m preparing to hibernate for the winter.
And it’s not like I ate all of these in one day…or did I? The world may never know.
Did you vote yet on which chick flick Clay should watch?

Yay cupcakes!
November 10th, 2011 at 8:56 am
I need a sponge to sop up all this drool!
November 10th, 2011 at 9:08 am
MMmm… Holy crap. I love red velvet cupcakes. Now I am going to have to leave for work early so I can find somewhere that has cupcakes.
November 10th, 2011 at 9:10 am
My fat jeans are tight. It’s not just cupcakes, but the pounds of leftover Halloween candy my co-worker keeps us supplied with. Talk about a crack dealer!!! I need intervention.
And that red velvet icing looks amazing. I bet it’s creamy and delicious!!
November 10th, 2011 at 9:17 am
Well, obviously I need the name of said “local bakery” so that I can go get one of those fabulous looking cupcakes, immediately. I mean, unless you are offering delivery?
I’m using that from now on . . . I am not getting fat, I am just insulating for the winter. I do hate being cold, so all those extra layers of blubber are just my own personal defense against the ensuing cold months. This is a brilliant strategy, thanks!

Local Bakery #1: Angel Cakes. Go here for cupcakes if you’re interested in icing quantity.
Local Bakery #2: Sweet Angela’s Cupcakery. Go here for cupcakes if you’re interested in icing quality.
Call me if you go to either one. I don’t discriminate. They’re both on Church St. within 2 blocks of each other.
Ooooo..insulating…I like that word better than hiberanting. Hibernating makes me sound like a cranky bear.
November 10th, 2011 at 9:33 am
Did I tell you I like the new design? I like the new design. Although, I’ve no idea how new it is.
Those cupcakes look crazy good! I had one in London this summer that was drop dead crazy good at a bakery the name of which I love – The Hummingbird Bakery.
I also have their recipe book and will be making red velvet cupcakes for Christmas! Yeah, I know, far off, but that’s the plan. I’m not sure if I can make them look as tantalizing as yours do, though. Mmmmmh, cupcakes. Also, mudslide cupcake? *both thumbs up*
November 14th, 2011 at 8:55 am
I think you should post the recipes for the cupcakes that you make!
November 10th, 2011 at 9:42 am
I got a cavity just reading this! And gained about 20 lbs! I hope you didn’t eat all that in one day. That would be one hell of a sugar high!
November 10th, 2011 at 10:24 am
OMG that mudslide….look DEVINE.

November 10th, 2011 at 10:51 am
Okay, I want all of those things. Can I have some? Please?
November 10th, 2011 at 10:57 am
Oh man. You probably would have gotten some of those things if your team had won. Too bad.
And by too bad, obviously I mean “ha ha!”
November 10th, 2011 at 11:02 am
“Don’t judge me. I’m preparing to hibernate for the winter.” haha tell myself this all the time.
Cupcakes are my supreme weakness. I’m powerless against their cakey deliciousness. Dear Crumbs/Mr. Cupcake/Cupcake Cafe: it’s been 3 months since my last indulgence.
That’s it. I’m getting one for lunch!
November 14th, 2011 at 8:57 am
3 months is entirely too long to go without a cupcake!
November 10th, 2011 at 11:21 am
Dammit. I want a cupcake now.
My jeans are already too tight and the holidays aren’t here yet.
But at least you’re weaned off the Halloween candy… right?
November 14th, 2011 at 8:58 am
Mostly….
November 10th, 2011 at 11:28 am
I am so glad to know that I am not the only one that is going into a sugar hibernation. Those cupcakes made me want to claw through my screen to your house..then you can take me to get one of those fluffy velvety cupcakes!
November 10th, 2011 at 11:33 am
Red Velvet is my absolutely favoritest cupcake flavor in the entire world.
There’s a breakfast place in my town that makes red velvet pancakes. I ate an entire pancake and felt sick the for rest of the day but it was WORTH IT
November 14th, 2011 at 8:58 am
Red Velvet pancakes? Where? I have to know!
November 10th, 2011 at 11:37 am
Good heavens, Thoughtsy, we’re going to have to get a wheelbarrow for you if you keep this up! Oh never mind. Like I tell my doctor, “It’s my winter weight and I’m proud of it”.
November 10th, 2011 at 12:56 pm
Must. . .Have. . .S’mOreo. . .I think I gained 10lbs. just by reading this.
November 10th, 2011 at 1:16 pm
Ice cream. That’s where all my sugar comes from. I try to ignore it, but it is there in the freezer. Calling me. And when my pint is finished, The Boy’s ice cream starts calling. He neglects it. Leaves it alone for days at a time…
November 10th, 2011 at 1:46 pm
Come live with us. We’ll keep you in yumminess.
November 10th, 2011 at 1:55 pm
Lucky for me, that crack-riddled cupcake is not gluten-free. This intolerance really keeps me in check… however, there are other sugary delights I manage to overindulge in, for my own winter hibernation. Thanks for reminding me – time to sleep more. If I move around too much, might…lose…winter…insulation.
Wow. Even the effort to type is tiring me so.
November 10th, 2011 at 2:01 pm
You got crack on my cupcake. No, you got cupcake in my crack. Two great tastes that taste great together.
And “Cupcakery” is such an awesome word!
November 10th, 2011 at 2:16 pm
Oh, red velvet is my absolute favorite of cakie-like things!!
November 10th, 2011 at 3:44 pm
Are those marshmallows and sprinkles in that frozen yogurt?
I’m just teasing. I don’t judge and am definitely preparing to hibernate as well! Preparation=Carbs, carbs, carbs!
November 14th, 2011 at 9:01 am
Definitely sprinkles, but I think I got white chocolate chips.
November 10th, 2011 at 4:55 pm
Maybe it is Halloween sugar withdrawal…but I can almost smell those cupcakes…..difficult choice: treadmill or rummage through pantry (there’s bound to be something left)
November 10th, 2011 at 7:42 pm
Red Velvet cupcakes … Red Velvet cupcakes … Red Velv … STOP! I’ll never be able to get them out of my head. Must have many. Red Velvet cake is my all time favorite!
November 10th, 2011 at 8:37 pm
I can’t remember the last time I had any cupcake and I am yet to experience the taste sensation that is a Red velvet cupcake. Thank you for making sure that they’re still being eaten!
November 14th, 2011 at 9:02 am
Never had a red velvet cupcake? WHAT?!?!
November 15th, 2011 at 5:26 pm
I know! I’ve been back at the gym this week though so maybe today’s the day that I find one of these delicious little cupcakes and find out what I’ve been missing for so many years.
November 10th, 2011 at 9:27 pm
Yum! Red velvet is my favorite too. You have two cupcake places near you??
November 14th, 2011 at 9:02 am
Yep, 2 cupcake places, about 10 ice cream places, a candy store, and a fudge shop.
November 10th, 2011 at 11:53 pm
This could be a post of my day today. Woof. Yet, delicious!
And what in the holy goodness is a SmOreo?!?
November 14th, 2011 at 9:07 am
Instead of graham cracker, you use Oreos. Soooooo good.
November 11th, 2011 at 8:21 am
It’s been scientifically proven that sugar causes the same addicted effects as cocaine. Better a cupcake than crack, yes?
November 11th, 2011 at 10:10 am
I have no willpower to turn down a cupcake. I can eat a 12 pack of cupcakes in one sitting and have done so many many times!
November 11th, 2011 at 2:02 pm
Sweet Angela’s, huh? I thought I had that trademarked!
November 11th, 2011 at 2:31 pm
I don’t know what it is about a cupcake, but I just love them. They are so much better than cake (even though I’m love me some cake too).
However, I have to ask…what is everyone’s obsession with Red Velvet? I know it ususally comes with cream cheese frosting (yum), but the acutal cake part doesn’t taste any different than yellow cake, to me. I’m not saying I don’t like Red Velvet, but I don’t get why people will choose that over something else. I know people that rave about it and I just don’t quite understand. LOL Are my tastebuds defective? Explain this Red Velvet love (hehe that sounds dirty) to me please! lol
November 11th, 2011 at 2:37 pm
I need a cup cake! I wonder if there is such thing as a pop tart cupcake?
November 11th, 2011 at 4:43 pm
I just sent cupcakes to the teachers at my kids’ school. They looked like apples and were red velvet cake with white cake in the middle to look like a core. I really wish I could make these but then I would look like a cupcake.
November 14th, 2011 at 9:19 am
That sounds really cool!
November 11th, 2011 at 4:55 pm
Those all look amazing (except for the yogurt, which looks suspiciously non-chocolate).
I’m really going to have to try red velvet cake sometime. When I was a kid, I read a recipe for tomato soup cake in some cookbook we had around the house, and I avoided red velvet cake for years because I thought that’s what it was.
November 14th, 2011 at 9:20 am
Usually I got for chocolate in some form, so this yogurt was an aberration. Do the Oreos and white chocolate chips count?
November 11th, 2011 at 8:13 pm
How on earth do you eat this and live?
November 14th, 2011 at 9:20 am
I’ve built up a tolerance over the years. Don’t try this at home.
November 13th, 2011 at 4:07 pm
Yummmm-me! My sister calls her lottery ticket addiction “cardboard crack.” Your version looks much better.
November 13th, 2011 at 4:46 pm
I now want a cupcake
Those look delicious!
November 14th, 2011 at 7:24 am
I’ve just ordered cupcake as a promotional give-away from ym store, I’m giving away 20 so i obviously ordered 30….I’m going to be on such a sugar high!!
November 14th, 2011 at 9:21 am
I wish your store was closer to me….
November 14th, 2011 at 8:01 am
i could do with a cupcake right now….!

November 14th, 2011 at 11:13 am
Oh my, now I need a cupcake. Or candy. Or a brownie. Damn, I just need something sweet. Now.
November 14th, 2011 at 8:02 pm
Already voted! AND all of those look so yummy. Ugh. I’m still munching on smarties
November 14th, 2011 at 11:16 pm
SO. Sweeney sent me chocolate from France because she is the best friend of ever. And I sat here and ate a lot of it and then was all, “I should put this away. AND THEN, I read this post and was inspired to not put off tomorrow what desserts can be eaten today.
Or something.
Mostly, this was all really yummy.
